Stamp Club @ Country Scrappin'

At the crop on Saturday there was a lot of interest in starting a Stamp Club for the girls out in the Stevensville area.

We would have the club meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month it runs (depending on the number of people who sign up) at Country Scrappin'. . Cost would be a 1 time fee of $25, plus each member would have to order $20 each month. Each member would take turns playing hostess so everyone would get a chance for hostess bene's. Children are welcome, but please they should be 14 yrs or older so they can follow along more easily.

There are 8 spots open. If you would be interested please contact myself or Donna. I'll be sending out an email after the 1st of the year with all the details.

Tutorial: Star Album

Red line tape
3 sheets of 3 colors of 12X12 cardstock or heavy double sided paper (You can use anything, but for the ease of this tutorial I used 3 different colors so you could better see how to put it together.)
Chipboard for front/back covers (approx 5 1/2" squares, 2 pieces)
Extra sheets of coordinating paper to deco covers & insides

Now let's make the album!
Step 1: Cut 6 pieces of CS 11" X 5 3/4" (For this it's red)
Step 2: Cut 6 pieces of CS 9 1/2" X 5 3/4" (For this it's teal)
Step 3: Cut 6 pieces of CS 8" X 5 3/4" (For this it's patterned)
Step 4: Fold all pieces in half. Lengthwise

Step 5: Place Red line tape on the inside ends of the 2 biggest sets of paper. Not the smallest sheets. (In this case it is the red & teal papers)
Step 6: Line of the ends of the largest and middle sheet. Peel away red line layer, and attach.
Step 7: Take the smallest sheet, peel away red line layer on the middle sheet, and attach lined up. It will look like the below picture.

Step 8: Complete with the rest of the 5 sets of papers.
Step 9: Once completed, repeat steps #5-#7 on the other side of papers.
Step 10: Now, you are going to stack them up. All folded ends lined up on top of each other, and the open ends lined up. Take the first group of papers, outline with red line tape, and attach the second group of papers on top. It will look like the below picture after the first 2 sets are attached.

Step 11: Continue until all 6 groupings of papers are attached. One on top of the other. Once they are all attached, you can open it up and you will see why this is called a "STAR ALBUM." You are almost done!

Step 12: Take a length of ribbon, and glue it to the outside, and around, covers of the album. This will be how you keep the album open or closed.
Step 13: Decorate The chip board covers, then attach over the ribbon.
Step 14: Decorate the rest of your mini album and you're done!!

Cropping the day away!

I'll be in Stevensville all day laughing & making messes with my friends. I'm quite excited, except for the fact that I've hurt my back/hip/something and while I have never been to a Chiro, I wanted to go yesterday- and he's out until Monday. Me sitting is not going to be fun. I'm bringing a pillow and if you show up- don't mind me when I grunt and groan moving around.

I think the crop is full, but feel free to swing by!

SS: Pocket Calendar (tutorial)

Red Line Tape (any width, but I prefer the 1" wide.)
Pocket Calendar (any type, but I hit up our dollar store- great steal!)
Pretty Paper & embellishments

Step 1: Outline the outside of the pocket calendar with red line tape. I do this to give the calendar more weight & durability. The plastic coverings are usually very thin- if you get a cheap calendar. The paper will add bulk- which makes it last forever!

Step 2: Peel off the red protective sheet on the tape, and place paper over the top. Trim paper around the calendar so it is now covered. You can pre cut out the paper, by tracing the calendar as a template. I don't for the pure fact that I can rarely get it centered correctly.

Step 3: Adhere ribbon down the center. I chose to cover most of the ribbon with a coordinating piece of paper. You do not need to do this. I leave enough room at the front so I can tie the ribbon on the front, not the side, so it doesn't get hung up in a bag or purse.

Step 4: Embellish & make it your own!

This was done for my SS group, which met on 12/19/08 (Stamper's Supreme, is a Stamp Club based in Hamilton, Montana) and every 3rd Friday of the month. Contact me for details.

Kim- for you

Kim, for you because I sold out of them and you wanted one. I'll drop it off at your place when you get home.

Christmas Coaster's

So, I have been plotting and figuring out what to give my Secret Santa (at school) and happened by some seriously hideous coasters. They were $2 for a set of 4, so I picked up 2. Thus began the experiment to make them pretty.
Now, stickers, paper & mod podge later, they look very fun. Not sure which she'll get, probably the bottom as it's more her style. Perfect for coffee that is sure to be in abundance with the temperature's we're gonna have this week!
(Today's high is supposed to be 1, we have yet to hit that high. Cry for me, seriously. Remember, I'm from Texas- I do not do cold.)
